                                        Seiji Ozawa

     Seiji Ozawa was a famous conductor. He was born in 1935 in Hosten, China. In 1952 he was hurt in a rugby accident, so he turned from piano playing to conducting. After 8 years, he won the Koussevitsky Prize for outstanding student conductor. During the next 2 years he was an assistant conductor under Leonard Bernstein of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. A few years later he served as conductor of the Toronto Symphony. From 1973 he was hired as the director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra until 2002.

1. Becareful of punctuation.

"A few years later,..."

Also, you could say, "For the next two years, ..."

2. "Eight years later, ..."
